I finally found the correct badges for my car! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . As a reminder, the set for the IS300 sedan are significantly larger (7" footprint) than for the Sportcross (5" footprint) and I haven’t been able to get over it. But to be fair: shame on me . I did not verify the OEM part numbers prior to purchasing . This time around, I was not going to make the same mistake.
Remember, they sold only 3,000 or so of these cars and no other model sold in the US used these exact badges, so finding them has a huge pain in the ass. I could have ordered them new from LexusPartsNow for... $85.02
This eBay seller has a 100% rating, posted the part number, AND included photos of the measurements ANNNNND also included photos of before he took them off the hatch, which I will be using as a template for when I put them on!
Will anyone notice? Probably not in the wild , except for all of you will be forced to see the difference in the inevitable follow-up post. Will I notice? Well you bet your candy ass I did, I have, and I will.
Funny... I was just weighing the pros and cons of keeping the car and then I went and blew some money on it anyway. Oh well!

Meanwhile, I’m over here trying to not spend $100 on an Aristo badge set.

Knowing how rare that is, that’s not even a bad price.

That’s me, daily. “We could drive the wife’s Jeep more, I could sell the 4Runner and get TWO replacement vehicles...” Wash, rinse, repeat...

I think gold badges would look great on my car, but according to Lexus they didn’t actually exist for the Sportcross . Except I found this one photo... Probably did it himself. Also this was about the rarest color to boot.

Most vehicles I want exceed the value of my two vehicles combined and forces a single-vehicle compromise. I’m also pretty worried that if I spend big bucks on a newer pickup that I will be too paranoid to actually use it as a truck. Utility is beauty.

I’ve seen one gold-badge Aristo on Goo-Net, out of a few hundred over the last year or two of looking. Also saw a gold-badge Crown Athlete V, which has to be even rarer since it’s more accustomed for Japanese people even though it’s the same chassis as the 2GS.

That’s why I’ll stand pat and keep the 4Runner. I’d end up selling it, getting a couple of other vehicles, then want to combine them into one newer vehicle.

I am thinking that is my inevitable evolution as well. I went from six vehicles down to two, the next step is gonna be a just passenger pickup, or an SUV (and maybe a small trailer).

I suspect a lot of gold trim of the era was dealer-installed, at least I think Honda did it that way. I recall a friend’s mom had a mid 90s Civic EX in green with gold badges, and gold badged Camrys were everywhere.

Ha I just FINALLY got a correct JAGUAR boot lid badge for mine. It was half missing when I bought the car. I had an amazingly hard time finding the correct one with lots for later generations listed wrongly.
